Clarification of the media release titled “Australian pork industry response to substitution allegations”

In Australian Pork Limited media releases dated 15th February 2008 (pre-distributed only) and 20th February 2008 entitled “Australian pork industry response to substitution allegations”, it was stated that it is illegal to import and sell fresh pork in Australia.
Australian Pork Limited did not intend to suggest or imply that the investigations currently being conducted by the NSW Food Authority surrounding the substitution and mislabelling of processed pork products was in any way related to the import and sale of fresh pork in Australia.
